In Better Hands
Often we want to do it ourselves, take control of our lives, do it in our own strength, raise or elevate ourselves to heights.
But the Bible says it is God who raises us up, His word tells us that if we would humble ourselves, in due time He would raise us up. Again it says that the Lord is sovereign over the Kingdoms of Men and He gives them to whomever He pleases. (Deuteronomy 4:17)
But I love this verse in 1 Peter 5:6 because if you understand who God is in your life then it is not hard to be humbled by His powerful hand and to understand that God knows the right time and the right power to apply to your life that will lift you to heights that no one could have ever taken you much less yourself.
Submit under the power of God's mighty hand and He will take you to Heights you would have never experienced, places you would have never went.
Humility says:
I trust your direction Lord
I trust your decisions Lord
I will submit to your direction
I will follow your direction
Today Lord I stand in awe of who you are in my life and I am ready for the every step you planned.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1 PETER 5:6
Beauty for Ashes
God is the only one who can bring beauty from ashes.
Not sure where you are at in your walk, but I know when I am faced with difficulties in life that I am reminded by Isaiah that God can make something good from my situation.
- joy for sadness
- praise for despair
- strength for weakness
- purpose for pointlessness
Today I pray for those who are weak that you would strengthen them, those that are sad, give them great joy, purpose to those who have been on the wrong path.
Give them beauty for ashes, crown them with a new life, a new perspective and a new love for your Son Jesus Christ.
Amen...
and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:3
Write It On The Walls
Jesus had freed a man from demons, and the man who had experienced the miracle the Bible says he begged Jesus to let him go with Him.
I believe that when we experience miracles in our lives we should allow that miracle to impact the world and that is how we can truly go with Jesus. I believe that is what Jesus was telling this man.
Go Tell:
Tell it to your family
Tell it to your neighbors
Tell it to anyone who will listen
Tell them what?
What God has done for you
How Good God is in your life
What it means to you to follow
In Habakkuk 2:2 it says that we should take the message, we should make it plain, and then we should write it on the walls so people can see it.
Your experience with Christ, your testimony about Christ's work in your life is the best message people could hear.
3 Points:
Take the message:
Make it plain (simple, understandable)
Declare it to anyone who will listen
38 The man who had been freed from the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him home, saying, 39 “No, go back to your family, and tell them everything God has done for you.” So he went all through the town proclaiming the great things Jesus had done for him. ~Luke 8:38
Declaring Your Faith
Whoa, Whoa, wait a minute... Paul what do you mean? Interesting verse, Paul says that being saved is not just believing in Jesus and His Resurrection, Paul is saying that we need to "Openly Declare' it not only does he say it once but twice and the second time he states it he says that is how you know you are saved.
Question:
1. Are you openly declaring your faith in Jesus with others.
2. Does anyone know you are a believer
I believe Paul is stating something bold, he is saying that if you truly believe than you truly have been transformed by it and there is no way you should be keeping quite.
Its time to get back to our First Love and remember who saved us and what He saved us from and tell the world.
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
ROMANS 10:9-10
Nothing Too hard
Nothing Too hard
Often when we pray we do it with limitations based on our ability. We limit God by what we are capable of doing, but in reality God is the creator of the universe. He has the ability to accomplish anything in your life, no task too hard for God.
Today do you need healing, God can bring it.
Today do you need joy, God can provide it
Today do you need restoration, God can do it.
Nothing is too hard for God!
“O Sovereign lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!
