GRACE

by Pastor Ken

Had to laugh at this on the week of my 22 year wedding anniversary. Not because my wife is quarrelsome, just because of the irony.

Everyone has something that their wife is always reminding them to do: pick up your clothes off the floor, take the trash out, pick up after yourself etc!

But on a serious note:

When we repeat ourselves, or constantly remind someone about something. What we really afraid of is that they are not hearing us.

So how do we reconcile this:

First we have to ask ourselves:

1. What are the motives behind what I am saying?
2. Am I more concerned about getting my way,
3 Is it that I am more interested in being right-than
about the person I am helping?

Often the solution is:
I should think of a more effective way to get through to them. Surprise them with words of patience and love, and see what happens.

GRACE:

"you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"

15 A quarrelsome wife is as annoying
as constant dripping on a rainy day.
16 Stopping her complaints is like trying to stop the wind
or trying to hold something with greased hands. Proverbs 27:15-16

Super Stars

by Pastor Ken

Super stars are not measured by how famous they get in this world, but rather the mark they left on it.

1. Life is a trust
God gives us the provisions to the promises laid out in His word.
As Children of God we have access to the resources, the power and the authority of our Father.

2. Life is a test
He is looking to see how we use the resources we have been given.
(Faithful in a little, responsible for much.)

3. Life is a temporary assignment.
This life is temporary while the one that matters is the one we will live in eternity.

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone. John 4:14

We need to shift our attention on the things that matter, our mark will be measured by:

1. How we served God on our temporary assignment.
2. How we served others
3. The message we left with the next generation.

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. Daniel 12:3

Fathers

by Pastor Ken

Fathers, it is our purpose to teach our children the word, to tell them of the wondrous God we serve. To tell them of the victories, how we overcome, because God never changes this word is relevant for you today.

If you want the best for your children:

1. Show them the Word in Action.
2. Wash them in the Word of God.
2. Teach them to walk in the Word of God.

Let's raise a transformed generation.

For he issued his laws to Jacob;
he gave his instructions to Israel.
He commanded our ancestors
to teach them to their children, Psalm 78:5

You Are Significant

by Pastor Ken

David recognized that the very same God who formed the universe, who created him hears his voice. He recognized that even if no one else in the universe cared about his situation, the one who created the universe does.

God cares about the details of your life, He hears your voice, never stop communicating with Him, never stop seeking Him.

3 Truths:
1. God Hears Your Voice
2. God Listens to what you have to say.
3. This should be reason enough to keep talking to God

I love the lord because he hears my voice
and my prayer for mercy.
Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath!
Psalm 116:1-2

Good Advice

by Pastor Ken

It wasn't that long ago when I was considered a young person. I also remember how smart I thought I was, but now as a wiser and older person I discovered that good advice is better than gold.

The writer here in Psalm 119 says that there is a way a young person can stay pure, to benefit fully in this life. Its by getting plugged into your word and then doing what it says.

Good News for you young people!

His word will:

1. Provide the strength you need in tough times
2. Provide the knowledge you need for everyday living.
3. Provide direction for your future.

How can a young person stay pure?
By obeying your word. Psalm 119:9
