Big God

Scripture:

Numbers 11:23

And the LORD said to Moses, "Has the LORD's arm been shortened?  Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not."

"Nothing Is Impossible"

Here, we find the LORD talking to Moses after Moses tells the LORD that the people are grumbling about not having meat. The funny bit is that Moses tells Him, the people are 600,000+, where are you going to get all that meat?  Isn't this the case with us, that when we face a big task or problem, we begin to think about how it will be accomplished in our own understanding and in our own strength? Because we don't measure up, we start to think that it is even too hard for God.  One of the things I love about the story of David and Goliath is that when he was faced with a problem bigger than himself, "he looked past the bigness of his problem, to see the bigness of his God."  As a result, he overcame the situation.  Today, we are reminded of this truth: "Nothing is impossible for God!"

The application here is to not approach the impossible in your own strength, but rather give it to God, whose arm is not shortened, whose strength is not limited.   If you face giants don't ask yourself how I will overcome this giant, look past his bigness to the bigness of God and remind yourself "Nothing is impossible for the LORD."

Lord, I pray for those facing giants today, that you would show yourself strong on their behalf, that whatever they are facing, they would have your strength in the situation, that you would help them overcome the impossible, that you would remind them of your BIGNESS.  Today they would see the victory of the LORD, in Jesus' name, Amen!
