Knowing Who You Are

Scripture:
1 Samuel 17:8;36-37
8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me.
36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”
"Knowing Who You Are"
Today, in our portion, you see people who, in their circumstances, have lost their identity. So much so that the enemy recognized it, notice Goliath's words: "and are you not the servants of Saul?" Not: "are you not the servants of the most high God? But then, in contrast, we have David's words in verses 36-37, notice that his identity is in the LORD his GOD, it is in his words: "because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me."
Knowing who you are, and knowing whose you are, David served the Lord, and he knew that the LORD would be with him just as He always had been. When you are in a relationship with the LORD, then nothing you face will be too big, because with the LORD, giants become grasshoppers, oceans become pathways to promise, mountains move, because with Him nothing is impossible.
Don't measure your ability by the size of your problem; measure your problem by the size of your God for He is able to do in and through you greater things than you can imagine. Knowing who you are is one of the greatest weapons in this life you can have, when you know that you are a child of God and what power, authority and favor that carries, nothing you face will be too big, because of the bigness of your God.
You are a child of the Most High God, "REMEMBER IT."
Straighten Your Crown, You're a Child of the King!
Father, I pray that we would never lose our identity in our battles, our circumstances, that we would not face them with our strength, but rather in the strength you bring, that we would remember we are children of the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and we come favored, mighty because of who you are, we pray in Jesus' name, Amen!
