Numbers 6:24-27

24 The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’ 27 “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

"The Power of Words" 

In today's portion, we have the Aaronic Blessing (Birkat Kohanim). The Bible says we have the power to bless and curse with our mouths (Proverbs 18:21), in fact if you read Numbers 5 in the law concerning jealousy, you will see that for those who are guilty, the words spoken and drunk have the power to curse.  This is why we need to be careful with what we speak, that we guard our tongue in all things, as "WORDS" have power, remember that all of heaven and earth was created by the LORD, with a "WORD" spoken, and today it is still held together by these very words. 

The application here is to guard what we say. When we are feeling ill, we should speak the word over our lives: "by HIs wounds I am healed," rather than speaking a diagnosis over our lives. When our finances are not where we would like them, instead of speaking of their sad condition, we should remind ourselves that the Lord is Jireh, "Provider,"  and because He is my Shepherd, I lack nothing.   Speak blessing over your houses, over your children, over your job, over your everyday life, test the Lord in this.

Lord, 

Bless your church and keep them.

Cause your face to shine upon them.

Give them peace and grace.

Help them "BECOME" the sons and daughters of the Most High.

Bless their rising and lying down, the going and their coming.

Lead them in the paths of righteousness for your name sake.

Accomplish in our city through us more than has ever been seen before.

Make Your Name GREAT among us.
