What Do You Seek?

Scripture:
Luke 11:31
31 The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.
In verses 29-32, Jesus speaks about missing it, how the well-intended and the not-so-well-intended can look for the very thing that was right in front of their faces (forest for the trees), possibly where Jeff Foxworthy got it, Jesus was the first to say, "Here's your sign." It's me!
But here in verse 31, Jesus says that the Queen of the South (Queen of Sheba) came to visit Solomon because she heard of His great wisdom and wealth that God had provided Him. Jesus says she will stand as a judgment against you because one greater than Solomon is before you, and you didn't see Him; you didn't recognize He is sent by God; He is equally God, He was at the day of your creation, and you missed Him, though He was right in front of you.
Today our God-Shot is a reminder and a question: "What Do You Seek?" See, they missed it, the answers to life were right in front of them, the key to the Kingdom of God. The one they had waited for was right there, speaking to them but they missed it, the challenge for you and me is to not miss it, to waste our time of things that don't matter, to seek Him while He can be found, to know Him, and to be known by Him, these are the things that matter.
Q: Do you know Him?
It is silly to think that we could know of Him, but not know Him or desire to know Him. This question should provoke action in your life; if you are uncertain, you should seek Him (word, prayer, worship)
Q: Do you seek Him or just what He can give you?
They sought a sign, but the greatest of them was in front of them; seeking Him is the single greatest thing we can do.
Lord, I pray that we would never miss it, that our pursuit would always be you, your kingdom, your ways, that we would find everything we need in you, and nothing in this world, that you would remind us that we are sojourners, ambassadors, and not of this world, we were created to be with you, let us guard our hearts and our minds and pursue you all the days of our lives, in Jesus' name, amen!
