Scripture:

Psalm 146:5-9

5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever, 7 Who executes justice for the oppressed,
Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He [a]turns upside down.

What You Find In Him

In today's portion, we see the attributes of God, His strength, the hope we find in Him, His power, His faithfulness, His righteousness, His justice, His provision, His salvation.  Today we are reminded that the LORD has everything we need.    When I read this, I see Christ, I am reminded of how He opened my eyes, how He set me free, it is clear that the author has experienced this freedom too, and so from the rooftops he is declaring the goodness of God.

• True Hope (Verse 5)  

In Christ, we find true hope, not like the hope that the world promises.  For He is the creator of all things and has the power to give life, we have hope because "The Lord is our God."

• Faithful (Verse 6)

In Him we find faithfulness. He is Sempre Fidelis (Always Faithful). He will never let you down.  He is trustworthy in a world of uncertainty. He sure, a solid foundation, one you can stand on.

• Savior (Verses 7-9)

In Him we find salvation. He is my savior, who gave His life that I might have life eternal, who spared no cost to accomplish it.   While I was still lost, Christ died for me (Rom 5:8).   

Our God Shot today is to "remember," remember as revelation the depths from which we were saved, to remember our first love, to remember the day of our salvation, to remember that He has everything we need in this life, and His promise is life, and it more abundantly.

Lord, I thank you for the life I have in you, that you loved me when I was unlovable, that you paid the price for me, that I am purchased, redeemed, that I am free, that I have hope in you, that nothing can separate me from your love, today I am blessed because the Lord is my God, so I praise you in Jesus' name, Amen!
